Bridget Monquie (Strong) Tyus

Bridget M. Tyus was born November 12,1976 to Roosevelt and Carrie Strong. She confessed Christ at an early age and joined the Selma West Village Church of the Nazarene in the summer of 1996. She served faithfully as a Praise Team member, secretary and treasurer. On Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at Vaughn Regional Medical Center, Bridget gained her wings and transitioned to be with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mrs. Carrie Strong; grandparents, Cleo and Anita Strong, Joe and Lucille Blevins; and brother, Anthony Melton.
She leaves to cherish loving memories: her husband, Kairaba Tyus; godchildren, Jaidealiz Tyus (goddaughter and niece); one brother, Gregory (Valerie) Strong; two sisters, Patricia (Carvin)
Thomas and Christine (Wally) Caffey; aunts and uncles, Susie Smith of Selma, Alabama, Lilly Pearl (Billy Ray) Turner, Robert Lee Turner, and John Blevins, all of Detroit, Michigan; sister-in-law,
Nykhita N. Newman; brothers-in-law, James Tyus, Jr. and Clinishia Garbriel Melton; eight nieces, Neiaudrah T. Martin, Czaria Q. Martin, Jaidyn A. Green-Tyus, Jaidaeliz M. Tyus, Ivanna M. Tyus, Chanteria Melton, Latasha Harris, and Jennifer Irby; four nephews, C.J, Chris, Joshua Thomas, and Timothy Harris; a host of great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. 

Homegoing celebration will be held Wednesday, March 13, 2024 11AM at West Village Church. Interment will be held in Serenity Memorial Gardens. The compassionate staff and management at Ashley's JH Williams extend our heartfelt condolences and prayers to the entire Tyus-Strong and West Village families.
