Emma Fail Foster was born on November 18, 1943, in Dallas County, to the late Exter Lang and Alberta Smith Lang, she confessed Christ at an early age and joined the Hopewell Baptist Church.
She later became a faithful member of the Good Hope Baptist Church, until her health began to fail. Emma was a dedicated worker at the American Candy Company for over 35 years.
She was compassionate and giving to her community.
Emma gained her heavenly wings on February 24, 2025, at Baptist Medical Center South, Montgomery Alabama. Emma was proceeded in death by her parents, Exter and Alberta Lang,
her son Terry Martin, brothers Wilson Lang, Henry Lang, and Exter Lang, Jr.
Emma leaves to cherish her legacy three sons: Joseph “Pig” (Arethia) Fail, and Anthony “Charles” Fail of Selma, Alabama, Willie (Lawana) Edwards of Montgomery, Alabama; three daughters
Corine Fail, Lorine Fail, and Willie “Boonie” (Patrick) Martin all of Montgomery, Alabama; four sisters: Sullina Minter of Selma, Alabama, Jennie Howard, and Dorthy Bradberry of Birmingham
Alabama, Mattie Slaughter of Detroit Michigan. one brother: James (Rose) Lang of Birmingham, Alabama; eight grandchildren: Kendric (Rhonda) Fail, Khadijdra (Westley) Holmes, Devonte
Dukes, Marquel Fail, Britany Pinkston, Courtney Mixon, Devin Berry, and Dejah Berry; seven great grandchildren: Kha’Liyah Fail, Kyron Fail, Karter Holmes, Jaylen Holmes, Kensleigh Perkins,
Kennedi Dukes, and Azariah “Ladybug” Berry.
A loving cousin, Judy Smith, a devoted friend LaVera Robbins and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and family.
Homegoing celebration will be held March 8, 2025 12 Noon at Good Hope Baptist Church. Interment will immediately follow in the churchyard cemetery. The caring and compassionate staff at
