Isaac Addison was born in a little house on Mabry Street to the late Reverend Solomon David Addison and the late Mrs. Jennie Mae Eason Addison. At an early age, David was baptized at West Trinity Baptist Church. He attended New Knox Elementary and R.B. Hudson High School, where “Ike” was a standout football player. Around 1961, he started participating with the movement/training sessions and became very passionate about Civil Rights. He was a Foot Soldier during the march on Bloody Sunday.
David’s work experience was varied but his heart was with long haul truck driving. He was particularly pleased to have driven to all 48 contiguous states.
Isaac David's favorite activity was watching football. He enjoyed reading the bible – particularly those books written by the Apostle Paul. He enjoyed weight training, chair yoga, martial arts
and of course – target shooting.
On Friday, January 5, 2024, Isaac traded mortality for immortality and transitioned to be with the Lord. He was preceded in death by his parents, aunts, and uncles.
He leaves cherished memories to his sister, Dr. Therese Addison; foster brothers, Richard Smiley and Willie Johnson; and a host of cousins and friends.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2024 12 Noon in the chapel of Ashley's JH Williams Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow in Serenity Memorial Garden. The compassionate staff at Ashley's JH Williams extends our heartfelt condolences and prayers to the entire Addison family.
