Lucille Mixon, native of Selma, AL. resident of Columbus, MS. transitioned on January 13,2021 at North Mississippi Medical Hospital, Tupelo, MS. Graveside services will be held Sunday January 17, 2021 11 AM at the Pineview Memorial Gardens in Valley Grande, AL. Lucille Delois Mixon was born on April 19, 1945. She confessed Christ at an early age and joined Wayman Chapel A.M.E. Church. She married Clark Mixon and began a military life culminating at Columbus AFB in MS where she served faithfully at Hopewell M.B. Church unto her homecoming. She served 23 years of faithful service in the Federal Civilian Service.
She leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter Katrina Cameron) Peters; a son Chadwick Mixon, MS; and Rita (Derk) Felton (special niece) – all from Columbus, MS. Five grandsons: Christopher, Randy, Ja’mon, Darius, and Jarquarius. Four granddaughters: Keyomia, Kelsey, Nadiyah, and Cha’nya. Eight great-grandchildren.
Siblings: Herbert (Essie) Martin, Selma, Al; Clifford (Debbie) Martin, San Antonio, TX; Gregory Martin, Union City, GA; Mary Richardson, Detroit, MI; Carolyn (John) Jones, Concord, NC; and Patricia Morrow, Charlotte, NC.
Lucille is preceded in death by her husband Clark Mixon, her father and mother, Herbert and Pinkie Martin; two brothers: Louis Martin, Kayser Martin; three sisters: Elizabeth Martin, Leila Morton, and Ruby Martin
In addition, a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
