Mary Johnson Obituary

Sister Mary L. Bell Johnson was born to the late Ruby M. Johnson and Amos Brown, Sr., of Selma, Alabama on November 6, 1951. Courageously answering the Lord’s call, Mary went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, February 15, 2023.

 Mary dedicated her life to Christ at an early age and joined Christian Grace Apostolic Church, Selma, Alabama where she served faithfully. Mary had a servant’s heart and it was very evident in her many years spent working for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents Ruby M. Johnson, Amos Brown, Sr., two sons, Wesley and Marcus Bell, one daughter- in-law, Roner Bell, one sister, Minnie Myles Clay, five brothers, Amos D. Brown, Jr., Roy Myles, Henry Myles, Johnny Suttles, and Willie Suttles.

Mary leaves to cherish her memories, three loving and devoted children; two sons; Hubert (Silka) Bell, Jr., of Trinity, Alabama, Ronald Johnson, of Montgomery, Alabama, one daughter; Lakesha (Daryl) Brisker, of Montgomery, Alabama, thirteen  grandchildren; Hubert Bell III, Rameja (Jerome) Henderson, Keshau Bell, Wesley Bell, Jr., Marquavious Harris, Te’Asia Harris, Kymashi Shelton, Rickeia Perkins, Ridge Soles, Jr., Royce Soles, Raylon Johnson, Raymon Johnson, Royalti Johnson, one fur grandbaby, Rainey, ten great grandchildren, five sisters;  Annie Jones, Brenda (Willie) Hall, both of Selma, Alabama, Gloria (Billy) Barron, of Oklahoma, Sara Brown, of New York, Rowena Harris,  Janelle (Joe) Morris, both of Detroit, Michigan, two brothers; Dewayne Myles, of Selma, Alabama, Antonio Harris, of Detroit, Michigan, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 24, 2023 from 3PM-6PM at Ashley's JH Williams Funeral Home. The homegoing celebration will be held Saturday, February 25, 2023, 1PM at Christian Grace Apostolic Church. Interment will immediately follow in Serenity Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The staff and management at Ashley's JH Williams extends our heartfelt condolences and prayers to the entire Bell and Brisker familes.
