Todd James Kelly, 42, of Prattville, AL passed away Saturday, November 26th after a long courageous battle with Huntington’s Disease. He was born in Somerville, NJ ten weeks premature and spent almost four months in a neonatal ICU unit fighting for his life. He was an honor student throughout middle school and high school. He attended East Stroudsburg University in East Stroudsburg, PA and made the Dean’s list while earning his Associates degree. He later attended Albright College in Bethlehem, PA. where he studied for a Bachelor’s in Business Administration degree. He was 3 classes short from getting his degree. He worked in the service industry and medical collections field for some time. In he was diagnosed with HD in 2016, but he had been struggling with the disease for several years. He was an inspiration to those around him because he never complained about his health or circumstances. He was baptized at Cornerstone Christian Church in 2019 where he became a member and attended, as long as he was physically able.
Todd loved music, movies, and his guitar collection. His friends would say that he was funny, kind, thoughtful, creative, had a huge heart and was an amazing friend. His love of music started early in life. He fiddled with pianos whenever he saw one and taught himself keyboarding, guitar and bass guitar. He was a movie buff and accumulated several thousand movies. He could name the movie that you were watching just by walking through the room and hearing a couple of lines. He could also tell you who
starred in it, what year it was made, and many other details.
He is survived by his mother Sharon Clark, stepfather Victor Clark, brother Christopher Kelly and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father James Kelly in 2004, his grandfather William Teeling in 2018, and his grandmother Arlene Teeling in 1990.
Services will be held in Montgomery, AL on Thursday Dec 1 at Cornerstone Christian Church in Montgomery AL. There will be another service held in PA or NJ early in January 2023 where he will be laid to rest. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America (HDSA.org). The staff and management at Ashley's JH Williams extends our heartfelt condolences and prayers to the entire Kelly-Clark families.
